The Cannon River Wilderness Area consists of approximately 850 acres of wooded river valley. The park is located 4 miles north of Faribault and extends along both sides of the Cannon River to a point about 5 miles south of Northfield.
South entrance: 3471 151st Street East, Faribault
North entrance: 13996 Cannon City Blvd, Northfield
Cannon Wilderness Park features
- Five miles of hiking and horseback trails
- Picnic area and shelter
- Port-a-potty (May through October)
- No running water
- Wood beam footbridge across the Cannon River
- Four primitive campsites
- Canoe launch to the Cannon River
Cannon Wilderness Rules and Regulations
- 3-day maximum stay
- The sites are first come basis; no reservations
- Trash removal is not be provided. Anything brought in needs to be removed (This includes all items brought in.)
- Fire ring at each site (follow DNR rules on firewood)
- Cannot burn any wood from the park
