How do I recycle batteries?
Businesses that sell automotive (lead acid) batteries also accept used batteries for recycling. Rechargeable batteries must be recycled, but household alkaline batteries may be placed in the trash.

Both lead and rechargeable batteries may be recycled at the recycling center located at the Rice County Solid Waste facility.
