Rice County Emergency Preparedness Advisory Council

Our mission is whole community collaboration to help better prepare for, respond to and recover from any event that may impact our communities.

The Emergency Preparedness Council began in 1988. This group's membership represents the county's emergency management providers and first responders.

The council, supported administratively by the Rice County Emergency Management director, functions as the required local emergency preparedness committee for both Emergency Management and Public Health.

  • 7-9 p.m.
  • Quarterly meetings are held the second Wednesday of January, April, July and October

The council includes resident representatives and those from Rice County law enforcement, fire/rescue services, emergency medical/ambulance services, first responders, hospitals, health care, emergency management, townships, Public Health department and Board of Commissioners, and the Minnesota Board of Animal Health.
