Marriage records

The Rice County Recorder’s office has marriage records dating from 1856 to the present for those applicants who have applied for their marriage license in Rice County.

Most marriage records are open to the public for researching. Marriage records from across the state can be searched on the Minnesota Official Marriage System (MOMS®) at www.moms.mn.gov.

Requesting a certified copy of a marriage record

A certified copy of a marriage record is $9. Copies of marriage records can be requested in person or by mail.

In person (payable with either cash or check) Provide the names of both applicants and the date of marriage.
