Long-term care
Rice County Public Health provides long-term care consultation services (MNChoices) and care coordination services for those 65 and over. In addition, the Long-Term Care Unit at Public Health manages the following Medicaid funded Home and Community Based Waivers: Elderly Waiver (EW), Alternative Care (AC) and Essential Community Supports (ECS) – waivers for those 65 years and older. These long-term care services are designed to support elderly residents in their efforts to remain living as independently in the community as possible.
Rice County is fortunate to have a wide variety of long-term care resources for its residents.
Residents or family members of those who need long-term care in the community or who want to learn more about community resources are encouraged to call Rice County Public Health at 507-332-6111. Ask to speak to the long-term care supervisor.
