  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link.
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Click the box next to the aerial photo you are interested in viewing.
  5. Click the print setup button and choose your preferences. Save or print your map.

How to Create a Map With 2 Foot Contours


  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link.
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Click the box next to the contour data layer under the survey section.
  5. Click the print setup button and choose your preferences. Save or print your map.

How to Do a Comparable Property Search


  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link.
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Choose an address or parcel.
  5. Open the comparable search tab.
  6. Choose the criteria you are interested in comparing.
  7. Select Search.

How to Print a Map Using Beacon

How to View Oblique Angle Photograph


  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link.
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Select the address or parcel you are interested in and open the map tab, or zoom to the location on the map.
  5. Select the Show Bird's Eye View tool (camera).
  6. Select the map.
  7. A Microsoft Virtual Earth window will pop-up displaying the area.

How to View Pictometry Imagery


  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link.
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Select the address or parcel you are interested in and open the map tab, or zoom to the location on the map.
  5. Select the External Services tool.
  6. Select the Pictometry Image Navigator tool.
  7. Select the map.
  8. A Pictometry Image Navigator window will open displaying the area.

How to View Soils Data


  1. Go to the Beacon website.
  2. Select the Property Search link. 
  3. Input the address or parcel you are interested in and select search.
  4. Select the check box next to the Soils layer under the environmental category.
  5. Select the word "Soils" to make that layer active.
  6. Select the identify tool.
  7. Select the soil polygon.
  8. The soil information will display in the top right section of the page.
  9. Select the link to see the report on Rice County Soils data.
